How it works
- Set content: Pick a content type and fill in the form. The preview updates as you type.
- Customize design: Choose colours, a logo, module and eye shapes — or start from a template.
- Generate: Create the final code. A built-in scanner checks that it decodes correctly.
- Download: Save it as PNG for screens, or SVG, PDF and EPS for crisp print output.
Questions & answers
- Do these QR codes expire?
- No. They are static codes: the content is stored in the pattern itself, so they work for as long as the content (for example, your website) exists.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- Your QR content is not. Encoding, rendering and exporting all happen in your browser. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, and the Location tab loads map tiles and its optional address search from OpenStreetMap.
- Why did error correction switch to H when I added a logo?
- A logo hides part of the pattern. Level H stores enough redundancy to recover up to 30% of the code, so it still scans.
- Are circle QR codes standard?
- The real QR code sits unchanged in the middle; the ring around it is decoration. Most phone cameras read them well, but always test-scan before printing.
- Which format should I use for print?
- SVG, PDF or EPS. They are vector formats and stay sharp at any size. Use PNG at a high resolution for screens and documents.
- What makes a code hard to scan?
- Low contrast, light-on-dark colours, very large logos, and tiny print sizes. Keep the quiet zone and test with a few phones.
- Is QR Spotter free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free with no account, watermark or usage limit, and you can use the codes you create on packaging, menus, flyers, business cards and signage.
- What can a QR code contain?
- A website link, plain text, email, phone number, SMS, vCard or MeCard contact, map location, Facebook, X (Twitter) or YouTube link, Wi-Fi login, calendar event, or a crypto payment address.
- Can I add my company logo?
- Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, GIF or SVG logo (up to 2 MB) or pick an icon from the gallery. The background behind the logo can be cleared so it stays readable, and error correction is raised automatically.
